Gestational Diabetes Clinic for Pregnancy
The clinic is located at the Perinatal Center and is open for appointments on Wednesday morning. When a patient is referred to the Gestational Diabetes Clinic, they are cared for by a team of professionals that consists of a registered nurse, registered dietician and Dr. Joseph Landwehr, Perinatologist.
During her care at the clinic, the patient/family will receive the following services:
- Gestational diabetes education plan with goals that are developed with the patient/family.
- Nursing Consultation, glucose (sugar) monitoring, breastfeeding, exercise, diet and general information about gestational diabetes and insulin instruction if needed.
- Medical Nutrition Therapy, including diet history, meal preparation, assessment and planning.
- A Physician Consultation, including counseling and coordination of care with the primary care doctor.
In order for us to meet the needs of the community, and to continue with the clinic services, all patients will have an initial visit with the nurse, dietician, and Perinatologist, Joseph Landwehr. We also offer co-management at the request of the referring physician. We appreciate your ongoing cooperation and are looking forward to meeting with your patient.
