chaplaincy
All patients have the right to practice their own personal beliefs while in the hospital. The right to choose not to practice a personal faith is also respected. If you have a personal faith, we encourage you to inform your local congregation about your admission to the hospital. Your own minister is welcome to visit you and conduct activities such as spiritual conseling, communion and prayer.
During regular office hours, staff chaplains are joined by student chaplains who are ministerial students from the area. Local clergy or laypersons are on call evenings and weekends to help meet the spiritual needs of Ball Hospital patients and staff.
Ball Hospital's chapel is open 24 hours a day for personal prayer and meditation and is on the first floor at the crossroads in the main hospital corridor. Patients and their visitors are invited to non-denominational worship services at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday in the lounge on the fourth floor rehabilitation unit. Worship services are also available for patients in the Psychiatric Medical Center.
