A tradition of Community

"A Tradition of Community" truly reflects the legacy of Ball Memorial Hospital (BMH), which opened for business on August 8, 1929 and continues to be a vital community asset today.

The BMH Foundation is proud to outline in our Annual Report progress that has been instrumental in continuing this tradition for fiscal year 2007-2008 (July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008).  Because of the generosity of our donors, the Foundation has provided funding for areas of local importance - programs and services such as Pediatric Rehabilitation, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Perinatal Center, Cancer Services, Cardiology Services and Medical Education, to name a few.

In addition to the traditional functions of the Foundation, we have been pursuing Grants and Federal Appropriation Requests for BMH.  The AEP Foundation has recently awarded BMH a grant for the installation of a "green roof" on the new South Tower and the Vectren Foundation is providing partial funding to expand the Patient Activated Computer Education (PACE) program for the Family Medicine Residency, which will allow patients to access health related information in each patient room.  External grants allow us to provide additional funding for specific projects at BMH that would be difficult to implement without this support.

The BMH Foundation, in keeping with our Mission Statement, works in concert with the community to "promote excellence in wellness and healthcare services for the people of East Central Indiana."  Ball Memorial Hospital will always reflect the best of our community, and with your assistance, this reflection will continue to be bright!
