Blackford Community Hospital is a 15-bed center designated by Medicare as a Critical Access Hospital. After 79 years operating as Blackford County Hospital, the facility became Blackford Community Hospital on June 30, 2002, and an affiliate of Cardinal Health System. The Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

A new hospital and adjacent medical office building were opened Jan. 19, 2005. Its affiliation with Cardinal Health System ensures residents of Blackford County and surrounding communities will have access to high quality healthcare services provided close to home for years to come. Blackford Community Hospital continues to provide cutting-edge healthcare with a small-town touch.
