Center Team raises
$22,559 during
Relay for Life
The Cancer Center "Coming Together For a Cure" team raised $22,559 for the Relay for Life event held on June 22nd. The team consisted of individuals from the following:
- The Cancer Center at Ball Memorial Hospital
- Indiana Radiotherapy
- Medical Consultants, PC
The team received three trophies and two plaques which are displayed in the front lobby of The Cancer Center.
- 1st Place Team Fundraising
- Sponsorship Dollars Raised
- Miss(ter) Relay
The number of cancer survivors attending opening ceremonies increased this year. Hundreds of survivors walked the opening lap of the event. Approximately 369 survivors and caregivers attended the celebration dinner for a total of over 700 individuals served.
The 2007 Relay for Life event has raised $169,000. There are two months left for collection of money. The American Cancer Society closes its books on August 31. Any monies turned in up to that point reflects on this year's relay event numbers.
